It all started in the late 80’s, I was coming out of a long successful career in kickboxing and had always shown an interest in photography. I also shared an interest in motorcycles and due to this I had agreed to go to Oulton Park to watch the British super bikes with a fellow photographer friend. We had formulated a little competition between ourselves of who could take the best photographs. Anyway much as I hate to admit, my friend got the better shots and it was this that inspired me to create better photographs. Fortunately it didn’t take long and the work I produced after this really inspired me and I knew then I wanted to expand on what I had learned. |
I attended my first wedding as a photographer in 1990 and found this to be a great challenge, but strangely enough although I was a little nervous I really enjoyed it and decided immediately I wanted to do more weddings and create a style to leave a great memory that the bride and groom would treasure for years to come. Things rolled into place really quickly and I always came away from the wedding’s knowing that I had given my best and I had captured memorable images which excited me. Not only that, I had also performed well on the day which always left me and the wedding party with a smile on their face and a memory to last. |
The years have rolled by and I can honestly say I have never attended a wedding I have disliked. I consider every wedding a privilege to be asked to photograph and I throw everything I have into the event knowing that I have contributed to the memory of that day. I can only hope when the bride and groom get their wedding album out to remind them of that day, they also will remember me and how I helped to turn their special day into that extra special day. |
